We perform all the most modern examinations in gynaecology and obstetrics
Since its introduction into clinical practice, 2D ultrasound has become a very useful diagnostic tool in obstetrics. Many patients have experienced the black-and-white images produced on a standard 2D ultrasound. Often, such images are difficult for patients to interpret because of the need for more plasticity and detail.
The diagnostic advances brought by 3D/4D technology are certainly the facial imaging and diagnosis of cleft lip and palate, and the anatomy of the pediatric spine can be very well analyzed, as you can see in our images. Likewise, the presentation of the hands and feet is better and easier with 3D ultrasound, as is the presentation of the baby's gender.
It should always be stressed that ideal images of the baby cannot be obtained in every ultrasound examination, as it depends on the position of the baby in the womb.
2D ultrasound is a primary diagnostic test
It should be stressed that 3D/4D ultrasound cannot replace 2D ultrasound, which remains a valuable and essential diagnostic test. Every pregnant woman should have a standard ultrasound scan between 18 and 22 weeks, called an "anomaly scan," or better evidence of the baby's normality.
MIA polyclinic has 4 ultrasound machines, one of the latest generation. We perform all the latest examinations in gynaecology and obstetrics. From standard to:
