Fertility preservation

Today's Techniques include freezing embryos (embryos) and egg cells (oocytes), freezing ovarian tissue followed by retransplantation, administration of GnRH analogues along with chemotherapy, ovarian transplantation during radiotherapy and oocyte donation.

In the field of fertility preservation and oncofertility, MIA Polyclinic performs the following methods:

Freezing the embryo

For all medical and non-medical reasons to delay embryo transfer.

Freezing of egg cells (oocytes)

Oocyte cryopreservation is an option for fertility preservation, especially for women who do not have a partner or for ethical or religious reasons that do not allow embryo freezing. Oocyte freezing is a necessary form of fertility preservation for children and girls with malignant diseases and women with malignant diseases such as leukaemia, lymphomas, and breast or thyroid cancer.

Ovarian tissue freezing

The advantage of ovarian tissue cryopreservation is that no sperm donation or ovarian stimulation is needed. This technique can be used in prepubescence and in situations where the start of chemotherapy cannot be postponed.

Preservation of male fertility

Male fertility preservation methods are relatively simple and established procedures. The most reliable way is the cryopreservation of sperm. At least 4-5 ejaculates are stored, and it is essential to determine the fertility of the sample before storage. The method of intracytoplasmic injection in the process of in vitro fertilization significantly increases the drift rate in assisted reproduction procedures.
