Family planning and contraception

Family planning and contraception

Family planning and contraception

Family planning is an integral part of MIA Polyclinic’s health services

The goal of family planning is the birth of healthy and desirable children and responsible and conscious parenting. We have previously pointed out that from the beginning of sexual life, regular visits to a specialist are mandatory, both for the prevention of disease and for the use of reliable contraception.

Hormonal contraception

Every woman is unique regarding her needs, desires, hormone metabolism, health risks, reactions and side effects.

Worldwide, about 120 million women use various forms of oral contraceptives and the majority (80-85%) use combined oral contraceptives (COCs).

Types of Hormonal Contraception

  • combined oral contraceptives (COCs)
  • progestogen-only pill (POP - mini pill)
  • combined hormonal patch
  • vaginal ring
  • levonorgestrel uterine lining (LNG-IUS-Mirena)

The variety of preparations and application methods allow the practitioner to choose individualized COCs, POPs, or another form of HC. By making a convenient choice, we aim to reduce side effects, increase user satisfaction and improve cooperation.
