Diagnosis and treatment of infertility
At the MIA Polyclinic, we adopt an individual treatment plan
Infertility is a disease of the reproductive system characterized by the absence of clinical pregnancy after 12 months or more of unprotected sexual intercourse (WHO). A healthy and young couple typically achieves pregnancy in 85% of cases in the first year, and the following year gives only a 5% chance of success.
Once we have identified the problem and the cause, we begin to create a personalized treatment plan. If the woman is over 35 years of age and in circumstances of possible more rapid fertility decline, waiting to treat and cure is not warranted. We recommend a successful and safe method after precise treatment and identification of the cause of failure (or if we have not identified it) in our clinic.
Patient safety comes first
Patient safety always takes precedence over the desire for quick success, which can be risky. Today, a common mistake is the hasty decision to operate on gynaecological organs, and even cervical conization (including LLETZ) can seriously damage the cervix. We emphasize that any surgery in the pelvis reduces ovarian reserve and creates adhesions.
Treatment at the MIA Polyclinic is, therefore, individualized according to the patient's causes and characteristics and also according to the fertility of the semen.
Treatment methods we apply:
Today, 70-80% of all causes of infertility are treated with IVF/ICSI.
