Pathology of the uterus

Pathology of the uterus

Pathology of the uterus

Numerous pathological changes in the uterus can affect the reduction of fertility in women.

The uterus is an organ located in the middle of the pelvis, and its complex structure corresponds to its function. Today's medicine recognizes numerous pathological changes in the uterus that can affect the reduction of fertility in women.

The frequency of pathological changes increases with the woman's age, and in our clinic, they are diagnosed by extended gynaecological examination, ultrasound and, rarely, magnetic resonance imaging.

Of particular concern are premalignant and malignant changes in the uterus, of which the cervix is the site where the inner and outer envelope (epithelium) meet and which is particularly susceptible to viral inflammation by the human papillomavirus (HPV). Intraepithelial premalignant changes (CIN, ASC-US) of varying intensity and risk can occur there, so we always recommend anti-HPV vaccines to young girls.

In summary, pathological changes that can occur according to the anatomical location:

CERVIX (epithelium, mouth, duct): Inflammation - cervicitis, lack of mucus; HPV - CIN, ASC -US (I-III); stenosis; accretion;

ENDOMETRIUM: Chronic endometritis, receptivity, peristalsis; Polyp; Adherence; Asherman sy;

MUSCLE TYPES: Myomas - submucosal, intramural, subserosal

PERIMETRIUM: Endometriosis; Adhesiveness

DEVELOPMENTAL ABNORMALITIES: uterus bicornis, uterus duplex, semi-uterus, uterine septum
