Ovulation Stimulation
Cycle disorders and anovulation are common causes of female infertility (20-30%). Therefore, ovulation stimulation is one of the most essential procedures in treating sterility.
There are two basic approaches:
Induction of Ovulation (IO):
• treatment of anovulation without additional procedures (or IUI)
• Objective: monofolliculogenesis
• for timed intercourse, IUI
Ovulation stimulation (OS):
• preparation for IVF/ICSI - multiple folliculogenesis
• moderate protocols: aim for 4 to 7 oocytes
• standard protocols: aim for 8 to 15 oocytes
Each ovulation stimulation in our clinic is individualized depending on the patient's specific characteristics. Success and safety are crucial.
Each individualized stimulation protocol aims to achieve a sufficient number of competent oocytes for a fresh and cryo IVF procedure. At the same time, the risk of hyperstimulation (OHSS) and multiple pregnancies should be reduced.
