PRONATAL and MIA Polyclinic
As MIA Polyclinic is part of the Pronatal Group, our patients have easier access to methods that are not eligible to be performed in the Republic of Croatia.
IVF with donated reproductive cells
During the preparation for the donation programme, the MIA Polyclinic carries out the following:
Genetic laboratory
Genetic screening of couples before infertility treatment, as well as early detection of embryo abnormalities, both minimise the number of failed IVF procedures. Therefore, modern genetics is an essential part of assisted reproduction.
The Pronatal genetic laboratory has existed since 2002, when PRONATAL became the first IVF centre in the Czech Republic with its own genetic laboratory. It also has a department of clinical geneticists, who recommend the necessary tests and, after the examination, carry out consultations.
The laboratory specializes in genetic testing of future parents and their embryos. Pronatal laboratory is ISO certified and its testing methods are accredited by the Czech Institute for Accreditation (CIA). Proof of the Pronatal laboratory's expertise and quality is that other IVF centres in the Czech Republic also carry out tests in our laboratory.
Gene tests are particularly beneficial in the following:
PGT - preimplantation genetic testing
Preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) examines an embryo at the beginning of its development before it is transferred to the uterus. This diagnostic method is used to find embryos that do not have chromosomal changes (aneuploidy and blastocyst marrow). They are not affected by hereditary diseases transmitted by one or both parents. They are, therefore, suitable for transfer to the uterus, thus reducing the risk of giving birth to a sick child.
