Endometriosis is a common cause of infertility in women aged 32-34
Endometriosis is a chronic inflammatory disease characterized by growth and changes in the endometrium (the lining of the uterus) outside the uterus. Such heterotopic endometrium is hormone-dependent.
Endometriosis is a common disease in women of reproductive age. The frequency is 5-10% in the general population, but endometriosis accompanied by pain or associated with infertility is seen in 30-40% of this population.
Depending on the severity of endometriosis, most patients experience 2 types of complications:
Endometriosis is now treated medically and surgically, depending on the symptoms and stage of development.
Endometriosis is a common cause of infertility in women aged 32 to 34 years (≈35% of causes), and advanced endometriosis and endometriomas reduce ovarian reserve by 25 to 30% per year.
Unfortunately, surgeons opt for the first endometrioma surgery early, and surgery is often performed at the age of 28 to 32 years. Most patients then have no children and are not ready to give birth.
Therefore, fertility preservation by cryopreservation of eggs should be the first consideration when endometrioma is first diagnosed and before surgery. The success of rapid freezing vitrification further justifies such a choice.
