Endometriosis

Endometriosis is a very common disease affecting women of reproductive age, during which particles of the endometrium can be found outside of the uterine cavity. For example, they can be found in the uterine wall, peritoneum, urinary bladder, ovary, oviduct as well as other locations outside the sex organs. The most common symptoms are pain in the pelvis, pain during sexual intercourse and painful menstruation. Endometriosis can result in various disorders, such as ovulation disorders or a mechanical obstacle caused by adhesion. This disease often occurs in infertile women whose oviducts might be obstructed due to obstacles caused by endometriosis. The treatment consists in hormonal menstruation blocking, surgical removal of the nidus, or the combination of both methods.
